A strong travel economy means healthier local economies and more jobs.  In fact, one out of every nine non-farm American jobs depends on travel and tourism. The Power of Travel Coalition’s mission is to demonstrate and highlight the value of travel to the U.S. economy and the more than 10 million American workers whose jobs depend on a vibrant travel industry. The Coalition will amplify the voices of millions of travel employees with a vested interest in combating assaults on travel, rewarding leaders who champion our industry, and advocating for policies that promote travel to and within the United States for years to come. Our message is simple: Travel is powerful, and it works for America. For that reason, the Power of Travel Coalition has three core objectives: 1) Champion Travel; 2) Protect Travel; and 3) Improve Travel.

The Coalition aims to build a grassroots army of one million travel industry advocates to:

• Tell the story of why travel matters to employees, vendors, policymakers and communities; 
• Increase travel to and within the United States by removing barriers to travel and preventing harmful legislation; and
• Demonstrate the power of travel by highlighting voices of the travel community in local and national media.
