The Power of Travel Coalition is the grassroots army of the American travel community. The Coalition seeks to amplify the voices of millions of travel employees with a vested interest in combating future assaults on travel, rewarding leaders who champion our industry, and advocating for policies that promote travel to and within the United States.

Who are the Members of the Power of Travel Coalition?

We are the more than 10 million individuals whose jobs depend on a strong travel industry, from hotel GM’s to housekeepers, from rental car employees to restaurant owners, from theme park and cruise line workers to tour operators and meeting planners. Anyone whose job is linked to, or supported by keeping people traveling, is invited to become a member.

What are the major issues the Coalition advocates for?

More people traveling to destinations across the U.S. means more jobs, stronger local economies, and a stronger America. Yet our powerful industry is often not taken seriously by policymakers, which means time and again we’ve ended up as a political punching bag. First and foremost, the Coalition will champion the travel community with policymakers and opinion leaders as the job-generating, economy-boosting, and all around vital industry that it is. The Coalition will also work to protect our industry from political attacks and natural disasters, as well as improve the travel experience for visitors to get more people traveling. Whether promoting the U.S. as a tourist destination overseas, or making sure our government is making it easy and safe for visitors to travel here from abroad, the Coalition will be advocating to get more people traveling to and within the U.S.
