On September 13-14, 2011, dozens of travel professionals came to Washington to help elevate the voices of travel employees, supporters, and constituents everywhere. The Power of Travel Coalition and the U.S. Travel Association hosted the inaugural Grassroots Boot Camp, to teach participants the value of grassroots in your community.

The Boot Camp equipped destinations and companies with the advocacy tools they need to achieve positive results for the travel industry in their communities. Participants were also sent to Capitol Hill to meet with their legislators and ask for improvements to the international visa process, reforms to TSA, and increased support for travel and tourism.
