When more people travel to destinations across America, that means stronger local economies and more jobs. For that reason, the Power of Travel Coalition advocates for polices and legislation that promote our three core objectives: champion, protect, and improve travel. Whether educating policymakers about the value of travel, promoting the U.S. overseas as a tourist destination, or making sure our government is prepared to respond to a natural disaster that impacts tourism, the Coalition will be defending and strengthening the travel community.

For too long the travel industry has been underestimated, undervalued, and discounted as “frivolous.” The Coalition works to change this tide of opinion and once and for all paint a clear picture of travel and tourism for policymakers and opinion leaders – as a job generator, economy booster, and all around vital and serious business for America. The Coalition unites travel workers to take back our industry and give it the respect it deserves.

Stand up for travel and tourism
The travel community is no stranger to attacks and assaults on our industry, whether being labeled as “frivolous” by elected officials, or being harmed by man-made or natural disasters. The Coalition works to quickly and effectively respond to attacks on our industry, and ensure that our government can effectively respond to emergencies and disasters.
Improve
Make travelers feel safe and welcome
The fact of the matter is that our country’s policies and practices have made it more and more difficult for Americans and visitors abroad to travel to and within the U.S. The Power of Travel Coalition advocates for policies that improve the travel process and make travelers feel safe and welcome at the same time. By keeping people traveling and meeting, America will keep jobs on the ground in all congressional districts throughout the country.
