Last week, Congressman Ken Buck participated in a Travel Talks Roundtable at Wiley Roots Brewery in Greeley, Colorado. Ian Steyn, a board member of Colorado Tourism, led the roundtable with 14 other travel and tourism leaders including representatives from Denver Airport, Visit Fort Collins and the Greely Chamber of Commerce.

Update: Due to our outreach, the legislature tabled their proposal their proposal to increase the bed tax. Thank you for the hard work.
Yesterday, the Pennsylvania travel industry was informed that the state legislature had proposed a statewide hotel tax increase that would nearly double the tax rate. The State House is scheduled to vote on this proposal today.

Last week, Rep. Ann Wagner met with more than 20 travel and tourism leaders at the St. Louis Museum of Transportation. Dan Lennon, Director of the Missouri Division of Tourism, led the discussion. The group included representatives from Explore St. Louis, Enterprise, Maritz and St. Louis International Airport.

Last week, Rep. Mike Gallagher (WI-8) sat down with 16 travel and tourism leaders from Wisconsin at the Lodge Kohler in Green Bay to discuss policies affecting the industry. In a meeting led by Deputy Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, Sarah Klavas, and President of the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau Brad Toll, the group reviewed a broad variety of topics.
